Maidaan has seen a horrible start to its run but it is attempting a fight back on Saturday. It still needs a miracle to get anywhere but despite extremely dull collections on Friday there was a trend as the film held up better than it should where Bassi Eid is pretty irrelevant.
The collections will remain low on Saturday but it will easily be the best day for the film so far but more than the film could have collections which are more than 30-40% than day one which was a national holiday and this is what gives some hope however little it is. It could easily fizzle out and just be that urban centre factor on Saturday and the next couple of days will tell.
Eid year has been a total disaster and its not just the worst Eid ever but the worst week ever for the film industry but if Maidaan can hold post the weekend it is going to be long runner and then this Eid may not turn out to be worst week ever for the film industry though horrible it will remain.
