Tamsha Opens Well In Major Cities

Tamasha had a good opening in the major cities of 35% plus while business in smaller cities was low at around 20%. Overall the opening is fair and the film should put up a decent first day total on the board but due to business not being up to the mark out side Mumbai city, Delhi city, Bangalore and a few others it will not be the sort of total it required.

This will mean it will be dependent on growth on its second day and crucially in the areas where opening is weak. Also as the film is likely to only be for the premium multiplexes so growth will have to come in around 25-30% as these multiplexes perform best on the Saturday. Still the opening is far better than Ranbir Kapoor's last film Bombay Velvet despite Tamasha also having weak music and content which has limited audience..

The plus for Tamasha is that holdovers Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (outside few circuits) and Spectre have come down to low levels so will have the weekend to itself but must at least find appreciation among the premium multiplex audience to make the best of it.

The other release of the week Yeh Ishq Sarfira has no chance and will be a total washout.
