Dilwale grossed 21 crore nett on its first day with stroong performance in South and East India. In Bihar, West Bengal, Assam and Tamil Nadu / Kerala it beat the opening day figures of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which was a big national holiday.
Nizam / Andhra, Mysore and Orissa also saw excellent numbers. The business in Maharashtra was worst as here it was a real clash and the figures of Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani were similar with some multiplexes in Mumbai city and Pune being lower than Bajirao Mastani. The film collected very well in single screens as Bajirao Mastani could not perform in single screens outside Maharashtra but even here the problem was that in some areas the better collecting single screens were with Bajirao Mastani.
Below is the first day territorial breakdown of Dilwale. The film was released on around 3100 screens across India.
