Dilwale released at the end of last year was not up to expectations in India with 140 crore nett but emerged a huge blockbuster in the overseas market. The Overseas business comfortably crossed $26 million which is the highest Overseas number for a Shahrukh Khan film. My Name Is Khan released in 2010 held the record at $22.80 million.

 

The achievement for the film was that it did it without performing in the biggest market which is US / Canada as that market could not even reach $5 million and was bettered by Bajirao Mastani which released on the same day. The did not set any highs in the big markets but set box office records in many small markets be it Malaysia, South Africa, Trinadad, Peru and Turkey among others.
