Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay managed to record huge numbers for a Monday thanks to the big holiday. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has the sixth highest Monday ever and Shivaay is in eighth position. The cumulative business of the films is 33.50 crore which is more than what Krrish 3 recorded in 2013 whose Monday also fell on the same day. The last two opening day records set by Happy New Year (2014) and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) have also come on this day which further indicates its the best day for box office collections in the year. PK is still the highest non holiday Monday but that film kept weekend ticket rates on Monday and the highest Monday without a holiday or enhanced ticket rates is Sultan which released earlier this year. Below are the top ten first Monday collections of all time.
