Jolly LLB 2 grossed 12 crore nett on its first day which is a below par opening. It is better than Airlift by around 1 crore nett but with 1000 plus more screens in play. The collections are below Rustom by around 12% despite that film clashing with a major film and short of Housefull 3 by 20%. .

The plus for the film was its business in East Punjab and Delhi city where in both it took an opening day on par with Raees but the rest of the country was generally under performing. CP Berar, West Bengal, Bihar, Nizam / Andhra, Mysore and Tamil Nadu / Kerala were poor while others like Mumbai, Rajasthan and CI were average

The film is going to be driven by East Punjab and Delhi city and it will be important for Mumbai to join also as three doing well can take the film to a good total but only North scoring won't be good enough. The film is unlikely to do much in South India and East India. There should be growth today as the evenings were a bit better yesterday but it is about how much growth and then can it follow up on Sunday. Even if this was to happen the film can't afford  to show a normal drop on Monday, it has to hold strong. 

There have already been two disappointing box office performances by big films like Raees and Kaabil and Jolly LLB 2 has a lot of work to do to avoid going the same way.
