There have been a few releases this week like A Mystery Story, Apmanit, Bank Chor, Phullu and Ramad but its basically a filler week before the big Eid release Tubelight. The only film out of the above to have some collections is Bank Chor though it has opened to very low occupancy of 5-10%. Bangistan was 1 crore nett and Banjo was 1.50 crore nett and this film will hoping to better the collections of Banjo. It is a coincidence that all three Riteish Deshmukh starrers start with the B and a similar fate unless Bank Chor can improve a lot tomorrow. The plus for Bank Chor is that is has recovered 75% of its investment from satellite and digital but thats not because of the film but because of the YRF film banner.
There is a only a one week run due to Tubelight and then there is the big cricket match on Sunday which makes the film even worse for collections. The Punjabi film Super Singh has opened well and could turn out to be the biggest Punjabi opener ever if the film gets the evening family crowd. The film could have higher all India collections than Bank Chor despite being a Punjabi film and on 350 theatres against the 700 of Bank Chor.
