Tubelight had the second biggest opening weekend of the year after Bahubali - The Conclusion. If we count films from the Hindi film industry it is actually the highest weekend of the year as Bahubali - The Conclusion was from the Telugu industry and a dubbed film. This is despite and under performance and pre Eid.

In the all time list it comes in as the 14th highest weekend of all time and five of the top 15 opening weekends are now Salman Khan starrers. Going by East Punjab which has no pre Eid affect, fair value is around around 72 crore. That is to say if it released like it did but it was not pre Eid and a normal weekend it would have done 72 crore. Below are the top ten opening weekends of 2017.
