Newton is looking to beat the bigger films like Bhoomi and Haseena Parkar which were released on the same day as it has showed huge growth on Saturday. The growth was expected as it was publicly made aware that it was the Oscar entry for India on day of release which was going to bring out the premium multiplex audience in metros. So because of this doubling the collections was probably on but the film has gone further and shown growth which will be around 150%. The collections will be around 2.50 crore nett from the 90 lakhs nett it collected on day one.

The fact that the film could not get many screens due to the competition around has aided it further as most of the theatres it got released in are the ones which show big Saturday growth. The collections on Saturday will be ahead of Bhoomi as that film will show some growth but probably not enough to reach 2.50 crore nett. It is actually unthinkable that a Rajkumar Rao film can out gross a Sanjay Dutt starrer but that is what happens when content is poor. This is not to say Newton is a good film but it has a target audience and they have come out on the second day though it has been helped by external factors.
