The final quarter of the year has got off to the worst start possible with Chef as the film has recorded total wash out numbers in the first week. The last few weeks have seen many major films fare very poorly but Chef is the worst of the lot. This is a film that even if it Monday holds at Friday levels it is still a huge disaster that is how bad the weekend is the for the film.

No doubt the film looked bad from the promos but still to have just a little over 3 crore nett business for the weekend shows how bad things can be when this type of cinema is made which very few want to watch. The trend is as bad as the collections with hardly any growth over the weekend. The first weekend business of Chef is as follows.

Friday - 85,00,000 apprx

Saturday - 1,15,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 1,35,00,000

Total - 3,35,00,000

The film actually had a good date with a good open run in from of it but it is of no use becasue of this total rejection of the film by the paying public.  It actually makes the collections of some other big disasters this year like Raabta, Rangoon and A Gentleman look good.
