Secret Superstar had a slow start with opening collections in the 15-20% range but this was always going to be likely as though its a national holiday the collections on this day are limited as those who celebrate Diwali do not go to the theatres. The collections in the Northern belt are very bad especially UP where there are hardly any collections. But Mumbai is better while Bangalore is the best. South India is generally better for the film and could have even better but there are two big South films, Mersal (Tamil) and Raja The Great (Telugu) and both have opened very well especially the former which has opened to very strong collections.

Despite the presence of Aamir Khan the film with an extended guest role it is still a word of mouth of film due to the genre and content of the film. The film should show a huge bounce in collections tomorrow due to it being the best day for collections for the whole year but it will be the public reports which will the film will be depending on after the holiday. .The film has a very good release at multiplexes across India despite clashing with a bigger film. It has managed to get half the shows across the country at multiplexes but still it is likely that the metro multiplexes will contribute the bulk of the business for the film. Some centres dominated by a Muslim population could also do well but other circuits dominated by Hindu population like East Punjab and Rajasthan may find it tougher with this type of film especially on Diwali.
