The postponement of Padmavati has left the box office in limbo not just because it will see the business for the year down 5-10% but because it has upset the release flow as well. The delay in the release of Firangi is down to Padmavati because it was going to difficult for the censor board to certify this film and delaying tactics were used and the same had to be done with others like Firangi, Justice League and also other regional films. In this way it is good that the makers actually postponed the release of Padmavati as now films can be certified as they were before the Padmavati fiasco.

There have been a few releases this week like Ajji, Julie, Kadvi Hawa among others but these are unlikely to contribute much business with Julie being best of the lot. To illustrate how bad the week will be is that it is Tumhari Sulu that is leading at multiplexes and that film itself had ended Thursday with around 1.30 crore nett.

There are the Hollywood releases Coco and Murder On The Orient Express which will have some collections in the metros but thats about it. Its difficult to see them pick up in a big way and go on a sustained run.
