Ambarsariya is looking to be a huge hit. The film had a strong opening though did not set a record as number of screenings were an issue due to two new releases with Batman v Superman and Rocky Handsome and a holdover Kapoor & Son which was also holiding a screen in the premium properties..
The key to the film was that it hardly dropped on Saturday despite Friday coming of a holiday. There was a huge Ind v Aus cricket match on Sunday but still the film maintained at the same level despite other films dropping. Ambarsariya grossed 4.58 crore nett in East Punjab and around 1.75 crore nett apprx in the rest of India for an all India total of 6.25 crore nett plus.
Looking at the weekend trend the film is looking at a strong solid on Monday and it remains to be seen what number the film comes up with. Due to screenings issue in East Punjab the holds could be very strong as it makes ground on the business lost over the weekend.
