Kabir is a novelist deeply in love with a beautiful young girl Rachna, who is brought up by her brother Laxmi Nivas and his wife Sulochna. Laxmi Nivas is in the search of an intelligent and a professor type groom for Rachna. Kabir successfully impresses Rachna's brother Laxmi Nivas with his antics and brother gives his consent to the couple for getting married.
The real twist in the tale comes when Kabir's look alike Rasiya Bihari, who works for a land mafia Carlos Rehbar Pasha, happens to land at Laxmi Nivas bungalow. Rasiya is amused to find everyone mistaking him as Kabir. When he sees Rachna in the house, he gives away his heart to her and decides to stay in the house as Kabir. Rasiya hatches a plan to make sure that Kabir does not comes back in Rachna's life.
Kabir on one hand is confused, as people are mistaking him for Rasiya. Rasiya on the other hand is basking in his new found glory. He enjoys his new identity as Kabir. But Rasiya's boss Pasha is annoyed and suspicious of his intentions as Rasiya is mixing work with pleasure. Pasha decides to teach Rasiya a lesson but he mistakes Kabir to be Rasiya.
Another twist in the tale comes when Rasiya bumps into Debu who prefers to be a gay and works as a dance teacher. He gets the shock of his life when he discovers that Debu exactly looks like Laxmi Nivas. He replaces Debu with Laxmi Nivas in the house. Rachna and Sulochna are not aware that Kabir and Laxmi Nivas’s look-alikes Rasiya and Debu have taken their places respectively in the house. Wild mishaps happen due to mistaken identities. The comedy of doubles becomes the comedy of double trouble when Kabir and Laxmi Nivas realize that they have lost their identity to Rasiya and Debu.
