Dukhiram is a very poor man. He has two beautiful young daughters. As Dukhiram is a very poor man so he is unable to arrange dowry for the marriage of his daughter. His elder daughter commits suicide. His other daughter Chandni also tries as once again Dukhiram is hailed to fulfil the demands of dowry made by her in-laws at the time of her marriage.
In the time being Dukhiram meets Ramlal, who runs a marriage bureau. Ramlal advises Dukhiram to marry his daughter, Chandni, 18 years old, to a man Mr. Shymalal, 60 years old, a widower whose young son and daughter-in-law do not approve of their father's act. On the wadding night Shymalal reveals that he has become impotent at the age of 60.
He tries to satisfy his new bride, but can not. Chandni, not satisfied by her old husband looks outside of her marriage. She meets a young man, who is her age, and falls in love with him. But one of her friends advises Chandni to not get involved in an affair as she is a married woman. Her friend gives her the book of Kaam Granth in which she comes to know the formula to attract her husband, how to rejuvenate him, and how to make love.
