The story revolves round the village and the villagers who have implicit faith in senior Thakur Dharamraj whose word is law. All disputes are settled by the great Thakur who heads the panchayat. Dharamraj has two brothers Arjun and Mukul who treat him as god, and respect him as the supreme head of the family and village.
Arjun marries the daughter of a business tycoon Meena, who is not fully conversed and acquainted with the customs and culture of the village life. As time passes Meena learns, adopts and weaves herself and becomes a part and parcel of the village life. Arrival of a young beautiful damsel disturbs the peace and tranquillity of the village.
She attempts to rope Arjun who avoids her advances, feeling insulted she cooks up a plan to disgrace him and accuses him of rape. This infuriates Dharamraj but Arjun remains mute to the charges against him.
