Owner of flour mills, Shrikant (Kiran Karmarkar) has 70 labourers working for him. He treats them well. They stay in the factory premises. Among them is Ram Singh, who get married and stays separately. One day, Shrikant discovers that Ram Singh is suffering from AIDS.
He speaks about this to his good friend, Rawat (Murli Sharma), a shipping magnate, and decides to have all his workers tested for AIDS. Out of the 70-odd workers, 47 test positive. Apparently, one of the workers, Yashwant (Milind Shinde), had led them astray by taking them to prostitutes. Five of the workers commit suicide on discovering that they are affected with the dreaded disease. Shrikant is disillusioned and doesn't know what to do.
He tries getting in touch with Rawat, but he seems to have gone to some far off place. Two years later, Shrikant goes to immerse the ashes of his father in the Godavari River. There, he meet Rawat and realizes that his friend had cut himself off from society because he too had contracted AIDS.
