Q. Will cinema in India die out as most films flop and the new digital content takes over with similar films that can be seen at home.

A. Digital is not a threat if good films are made and definition of good is not what is talked about but what is watched. If there is a Judwaa 2 and Golmaal Again every month or even after six weeks its all good. The problem we have at the moment is a section of the industry believes that the talked about films are the good ones when in reality it should be the watched ones. Its a refusal to believe the truth. If this can go out of the window and industry goes by results there is no chance for cinema to die in India. As for digital its unlikely those films will do much as the sort of results the digital guys want will not come from these films. The sort of results they want can only come from that proper Hindi theatrical commercial film and that can only be made for the theaters not for digital. The language and story telling of these digital films will be like Dil Chahta Hai or Neerja or a Ittefaq and that will not be enough for what Amazon or Netflix have come to India for. Also there is a difference in watching a film with others in a crowded theater than on digital and this will be plus for cinema as far as India is concerned. Its up to the industry to make films which get theaters crowded.

Q. Is Padmavati actually the most expensive Hindi film of all time?

A. Both Padmavati and Tiger Zinda Hai have a budget of 200 crore apprx inclusive of everything. The difference is that Tiger Zinda Hai will get a rebate from UAE which will bring its budget down a little. So basically does make Padmavati the most expensive film till date.

Q. Is it possible for Tiger Zinda Hai to challenge the opening of Bahubali 2 as it is not a big holiday?

A. Bahubali - The Conclusion was also not a national holiday. Tiger Zinda Hai is that first full out Hindi commercial action film this year and has the potential to set an all time record even though its not a national holiday.  The music will have to keep momentum up after this trailer and the music should be super hit going the directors past films. Then on that Friday you have to hope that the cold wave has not hit as if the last shows goes missing then records are tough especially the Bahubali - The Conclusion one.
