Padmaavat has done extraordinary business in Overseas with record business in USA / Canada and Australia. Gulf has under performed but still the film looks to have easily crossed $10 million over its extended weekend. The main four markets have contributed a huge $9.2 million and its looking an extended weekend in the $11.50 million range and could go higher depending on where the smaller territories land. The worldwide estimate till now is looking over 200 crore at around 212 crore but these figures will be updated in the evening when the final figures come in.
The highest three day opening of all time is Dhoom 3 at $10.23 million and if we take like to like for Padmaavat it could turn out to be the highest Overseas opening of all time but that can only be judged when the final collections come in. Below are the figures from the major markets and at places they are for 4 days in all markets. Gulf is normally four days with a limited Sunday.
United Kingdom - £725,000
US / Canada - $4,800,000
Gulf - $2,000,000
Australia - A$1,750,000
It must be noted that Australia had a wider release than normal and across Overseas the film is being screened in 3D where tickets are more expensive so this has helped the film take the film from very good numbers to extraordinary numbers.
