Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety has done very well on day one with collections set to come in 6.75-7 crore nett. The number is more than double of Aiyaary though a little less than Fukrey Returns which released a few months back and was a film of a similar genre. That film opened in the 8 crore nett range probably because that film had a little more for the masses.

But this film could show better growth on Sunday than Fukrey Returns as it has a family angle to it and if this works with the family audience on Sunday, the film could go anywhere. The film has scored heavily in North with Delhi NCR and East Punjab recording excellent numbers which are actually similar to Pad Man figures.

The other circuits have also done well and are sure to pick up further tomorrow as evening shows improved well today. The film has also affected all the other films being screened, even a well established Padmaavat.
