Raid has opened to an ordinary opening of around 15-20% in the morning shows. The trailer gave the feel of a heavy film which is low on entertainment which meant the film became dependednt on the evening crowd. The youth not coming on the first morning at multiplexes is no surprise for this type of film.

The opening is lower than Pad Man in terms of occupancy but Raid has a wider release than that film releasing in over 3000 screens. This is also probably a reason of lower occupancy as the screen count is probably too high as against the potential audience on the first morning.

Despite a lower opening than Pad Man it has the advantage that the subject here is not off beat where some of the audience will not come irrespective of content.

The occupancy is looking low at the moment but it will have to start picking up today and give itself a platform. Considering the screen count it has to collect around the Pad Man level or preferably better on day one to give itself a platform and only then the weekend growth can work for the film.

If the first day is low then the weekend growth if it comes cannot really take you far. Raid is the lowest opening for Ajay Devgn starrer in the past few years barring Drishyam. It is lower than Shivaay which released pre Diwali and with a clash though in the evenings this film has potential to do much better and catch that film up. The reason being Shivaay was an action also pre Diwlai when evening collections do not improve much.

There were some other films released like Pareshan Parinda and Raja Abrodiya but there was no audience and the few multiplexes screenings that were there in the morning saw cancellations.
