Padmaavat has emerged one of the biggest blockbusters to be released in January as it grossed 284 crore nett apprx. The only bigger films released in January post 1994 are Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai and Karan Arjun. In fact we can say post 1984 instead of 1994 that these three are biggest blockbusters in January as between 1984-1994 there are some big hits in January but none are likely to come at the level of these three with adjusted numbers. 

Kaho Naa... Pyaar is a 300 crore value film on the first quarter 2018 ticket rate and Karan Arjun could reach 300 crore value also by the ticket rate value at the end of the year. If we look at grossers then Jai Ho and Raees at 138 crore and 133 crore would get into top ten also but these films were not outright HITS but semi successful films.
