This week will see the release of Dhadak which could work with the youth audience. A love story of this type has not come for a long time in Hindi cinema as generally newcomers films in recent past are not aimed at the Hindi belt audiences like this film.
These sort of films have proved to huge hits in the past liek Ek Duje Ke Liye (1981) and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) though Dhadak is unlikely to be at those levels as the box office today does not allow films which are not going to open huge to compete with biggest grossers of the year.
Ek Duje Ke Liye and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak may not have been the biggest films of their respective years of release but they were pretty close.

The difference between Dhadak and the films mentioned above is that Dhadak is remake and not a original film. It is a remake of a Sairat which is the biggest blockbuster in the history of Marathi cinema so a lot will depend on how the Maharashtra audience sees the film.
The Maharashtra / Gujarat belt becomes even more important as Delhi / Punjab multiplexes are likely to be weakest in terms of opening due to the hero not looking like the traditional Hindi film hero which means for the North it is a totally depending on content. In terms of box office at least one of these two belts have to work for the film to emrge a success, obviously if both work then the film has chances of being a big HIT.
The opening of the film should be good due to the youth factor. There will be an interest in the youth to watch this love story outside those Delhi / Punjab multiplexes so it can take a start. The film is the second most costly film which launches newcomers after Student Of The Year.
