This week saw the release of Fanney Khan, Karwaan and Mulk and it has turned out to be a disaster Friday with all films recording very poor collections across the board. The occupancy is in the 5-7% range with Fanney Khan leading due to more screenings.
The films did not have much going for them with Fanney Khan probably having the best star cast of the lot but no one who has any sort of pull at the box office today. Mulk looks a very regional film and the collections are a total disaster in many circuits with UP being better. The film is likely to have a high ratio of business of UP but overall collections will be very dull.
Karwaan is a multiplex film for the metros and as far as the first day goes it is likely to have the lowest collections but it will not take much improvement in the evening to change that scenario.

Mulk and Karwaan are small films but Fanney Khan has a reasonable outlay of 35 crore but going by the morning and afternoon shows its looking at a 1.50 crore nett day if it keeps this pace up. But obviously it should do better in the evenings which should take it to a higher number but to get even 3 crore nett which would also be low for the film it has to show some huge improvement.
Mulk and Karwaan are heading for less than 1 crore nett figures at the moment but again they should do better in the evening which may help them go over 1 crore nett but it wont be by much.
Dhadak has also seen a big drop in collections on its third Friday and the box office is being dominated by the Hollywood release Mission Impossible - Fallout. This film will easily outpace all the new Hindi releases despite being on day eight.
