Simmba had a good first day collection in the 20.20.50 crore nett range as Mumbai did fantastic business. The circuit will come in at around 8 crore nett with Mumbai / Maharashtra being excellent and Gujarat being very good. The numbers in the Gujarat have not been good at all this year but this film has scored very well. the collections in Mumbai are the third best of 2018 after Thugs Of Hindostan (National Holiday) and Sanju.

The figures are 1.50 crore nett more than last weeks Zero though only Mumbai, CP Berar, CI and Odisha have recorded better numbers than Zero. It is down to the fact that Mumbai is 3 crore nett better. North india has done good business though ratios are low as Mumbai is very strong.

It is the biggest Ranveer Singh opening ever beating Padmaavat by around 2.50 crore nett and for Rohit Shetty it is fourth / fifth but the films above it like Singham Returns, Chennai Express and Golmaal Again are all national holiday releases. It has similar figures to Dilwale which opened on Xmas 2015.

The start is good but the film still has work to and it will be important for Saturday to get some growth. It will not be huge growth as the single screens that are so strong in the Maharashtra belt will show some drop. The idea is to be up and make some ground in the North and then the film can really push on Sunday as the families will come out and on top Gujarat  and Maharashtra (excluding Mumbai city and Pune city) tend to show huge growth on Sunday.

There is potential for huge growth as there is spare capacity but there will be more chance of that on Sunday as the singles screens will go to high occupancy in some parts of the country. The best business after Mumbai is CP Berar and Nizam / Andhra especially the Marathawada belt in Nizam / Andhra with huge numbers in places like Aurangabad and Latur.

The collections in Delhi / UP will be around 3.50-3.75 crore nett while East Punjab is 1.60 crore nett. Bihar has also done well collecting around 75 lakhs nett.
