Student Of The Year 2 took an average of opening of around 20-25%. Its a good start for the economics of the film as it does not have a big budget but its the next release after Baaghi 2 when Tiger Shroff smashed the box office and because of his presence the expectations are probably there for a better start.

The opening in the multiplexes is pretty much in the range of a Total Dhamaal but the collections in Central India and Gujarat are well short of Total Dhamaal. The film is not in the zone of a Baaghi 2 and even though it might have action in it, the film is more of a college musical romance which limits that mass audience. Tiger Shroff has a huge following in CP, Nizam, Maharashtra and East India which could be second to Salman Khan only but this film probably holds less appeal for them which could be reflected in the figures. It will be interesting to see at what levels the mass circuits come in at.

This will probably leave the film as more of a multiplex film and dependent on the growth over the weekend. There is a big IPL match today which could affect collections. The collections were hit of all films on Tuesday which saw a big match. The film opened on around 2000 theatres with 3100 screens.
