De De Pyaar De had the 8th highest opening weekend of the year with collections of 34.75 crore nett over the Friday to Sunday period. The film would have crossed the numbers of Uri - The Surgical Strike and Student Of The Year 2 if the film was not held back by the elections on Sunday though Student Of The Year 2 also had a similar situation on its Sunday.
.
This Ajay Devgn starrer may not have good numbers over the first weekend but his other release Total Dhamaal heads the charts with a 60 crore nett plus weekend and a non holiday weekend also. The others below it like Kesari, Gully Boy, Kalank and Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi all got a holiday boost.
The weekends numbers have come on lower GST rates and the GROSS numbers are not impressive at all as barring the top three none of the films have even reached the GROSS numbers of films like Pad Man and Raid released in the first half of 2018 and these films had AVERAGE weekend results.
The top opening weekends of 2019 till date are as follows.
