Bharat had a noticeable drop on Monday with collections dropping around 57% from Friday with 9 crore nett. The Friday number was boosted a little by Eid so the drop in real value is a little less probably a little over 50%. Ideally a 10-11 crore nett number on Monday would have been a good result.
Still the Monday number is still pretty decent but the problem is the World Cup cricket matches taking good chunks of business out of the film. The first day may not have been hurt a lot as it was day one for the film and the match was one sided but Sunday was a killer with the film losing a minimum 4 crore nett. This will continue with the second Sunday probably being hit even worse than the first Sunday.
So when these external factors are in play then the holds have to be strong for the film cover some of those losses on the other days. Here the hold does not look strong enough. The overall numbers are still good with 153.25 crore nett on the board and the week should go to around 175 crore nett. The film is still on course to be a HIT but with the big hit on Sunday and another one coming next Sunday which are the highest collecting days its not going to be the easy ride it looked on Saturday.
The collections of Bharat over the first five days are as follow
