The box office is likely result to see decent results in terms of cumulative business with growth of 10% if the films in December perform at last the minimum numbers expected of them. The year should see collections of 4000 crore nett plus and this will be the first time that the 4000 crore mark will be breached.

The collections so far this year stand at around 3600 crore Nett which is a Gross of almost 4200 crore and there is December to come.  The decade will see growth of around 140% as the cumulative collections in 2010 were a little under 2000 crore. This is better in than the last decade (2000-2009) which saw growth of around 85% though far less than decade before (1990-1999) which had growth of 200% apprx.

The footfalls remain stagnant as 2013 will remain the best year this decade as 2019 has no chance to beat the 34 crore footfalls that year for Hindi films though may hit 30 crore like 2017 and 2018. the cumulative GROSS business of every year this decade is as follows. GROSS figures are tabulated to give the correct picture due to many tax changes over the last few years.

2010 - 1998 crore

2011 - 2382 crore (+19%)

2012 - 3241 crore (+36%)

2013 - 3765 crore (+16%)
