The decade has ended and there will be many lists of the best films going around which will be opinions of people but opinions never makes films great and only the audience can make them great. One the weirdest things to read is that a big HIT does not mean a good film which is pretty laughable. A simple fact is that if people do not watch a film or do not like it then its not a good film no matter what anyone says.

Below is a list of the top ten films taking into account how much they were watched. It takes the theatrical footfalls of the film and then adds the satellite impressions which are the judge of longevity. The impressions of the first two screensings are added and then 3-7, 8-12, and 13-17 screenings are averaged out. This is enough for a two year period and after this most films are adding just 10-20 lakhs unless its the Bahubali films but then taking it further gives satellite precedence over theatrical as satellite can go on for ever.

Bahubali - The Conclusion is the BEST film of the decade and its a cut above the rest and one of the legandary films ever made in the country. In second place is Bajrangi Bhaijaan which is the best from the hindi film industry of the last decade. Then in third is Bahubali - The Beginning as its satellite numbers were way ahead of theatricals and this is a reason also that Bahubali - The Conclusion became what it is.

There were two films that just missed the cut by a few lakhs and those were Rowdy Rathore and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Both got numbers of 5.50 crore plus but less than Chennai Express.  Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actually has the record of most footfalls ever on day one in the cinemas (footfalls not collections) and the most impressions on television ever on first screening (outright Hindi films), the only thing was it could not hold the impressions on television to get into the list. Even theatrically the film could not hold too well. One thing the list shows below is that the best films in India will always be family films as that is what the films below are and are generally devoid of sex, violence and profanities.

This year Kabir Singh leads in footfalls but being an adult film the longevity will not be there and it will probably be War, Housefull 4 and Total Dhamaal to fight out though its unlikely any of these will end up in the top ten this decade. The latter has a huge showing on televions but theatrically its too low to be among the top of the decade. The best ten films of decade are as follows. The earlier films which did not have ratings as per impressions have been converted for an apprx figure using their TRP's.

1. Bahubali: The Conclusion (2017) - 12.35 crore

2. Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) - 8.74 crore

3. Bahubali: The Beginning (2015) - 7.39 crore

4. Dangal (2016) - 7.06 crore

5. Golmaal Again (2018) - 6.72 crore
