Love Aaj Kal had an epic crash on Monday as collections look set to be in the 1.75-2 crore nett range. They are a huge 80% down from day one which got a boots from Valentines Day. If we take fair value of Friday which would be around 7.50 crore nett even then the numbers are down 70-75% which is still a crash.

The four day numbers of the film are now 27.50 crore nett and the week will do around 32-33 crore if there is normal trending for the next three days from these low levels. The year is just six weeks in there have already been three hugely rejected films with Chhapaak, Panga and now Love Aaj Kal 2.

The film was being beaten by Malang in Gujarat / Saurashtra on Monday despite being in its second Monday and Malang is not even an average success in Gujarat / Saurashtra. The film halts the super run of Kartik Aryan who had three back to back HITS and although the blame of this failure is somewhere else, the actors are always face the film so are most affected until firmly established. It leaves Ayushmann Khurana the clear front runner among the younger lot and it will be a big margin if Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan does well this week and this despite that Kartik Aryan probably has more potential.
