The Hindi release calendar is taking shape with a good line up of major releases for the next year or so. The dates had been started to pencil in from early this year but the wait was for Sooryavanshi to announce a release date but that was not be and when YRF announced their slate the rest were quick to follow.

 

 

There seems around 30 releases listed below for this year and this list will not be exhaustive and there may well be a few major films left out. The Telugu industry has got off to a flying start while Master in Tamil Nadu has done well but they are generally catering to one state while Hindi cinema covers many states. The schedule is ready but the concern is Maharashtra which is seeing increases in covid 19 cases. A lockdown is unlikely as per reports but a continuation of this upward trend can be a threat.

 

 

The industry has suffered for a year be it the huge losses for exhibitors or the negativity on social media but there will be pent up demand with the actual cinema going audience and eventually they will return. Its difficult to expect much from the March releases as these films are probably the types which can do better coming after the flow of releases have started and the audience is back frequenting cinemas but then there will be no free Fridays.

 

 

The releases schedule for the next year or so is as follows at the present time. The films from the South will be either bilingual or dubbed films.
