Roohi has seen an encouraging response on the first day as it heads towards opening day collections in the 2.50 crore nett plus region. This is the best number for a Hindi film or any film released in the Hindi belts post covid 19. The biggest plus has been the on the day audience as its the first time its come out since covid19.

This 2.50 crore nett number looked impossible as the advance ended yesterday. This was more so because the films before like Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, Tenet or Wonder Woman 84 hardly saw collections move after the advance. Basically a huge ratio of first day was baked into the advance but with this film there has been some sort of normality as collections grow well over the day.

Obviously the number is not so good if we look at pre covid times but those were different days and it will take time to get to those levels. Even if we go back to February 2020 then its unlikely that this film could have got much more than 4 crore nett. Barring Stree the films of Rajkumar Rao hardly get any first day numbers.

The collections of the film in Delhi / NCR and some stations of UP are pretty decent levels and the first day collections of Roohi are a step in the right direction for the film industry and the audience wants to venture out to the cinemas.
