The Telugu film Love Story recorded a huge opening as it collected around 8.5-9 crore nett on day one which is the best start since cinemas reopened after the second wave and the eighth best opening post the pandemic. The film was especially strong in Hyderabad and surrounding areas which are officially allowing 100% occupancy.
The top openings post the pandemic are dominated by South films and mainly Telugu films as the Hindi markets have not been able to get going. Also the film in South are very dependent on the first day while for us its about the weekend as multiplexes dominate business and they collect best over the weekend. The top Hindi opener remains Bell Bottom but the collections was under 3 crore nett. The top openings in India post the pandemic are as follows.
