Radhe Shyam had a very dull opening in Hindi as the audience was just not interested. The industry is in shock but there was always a possibilty that the audience will not come as they will see it as a dubbed film even though it is not a dubbed film.

A section of the industry was expecting some sort of start but that was probably because this agency ormax media started with a double digit number so some sort of expectations get built into minds and when they come nowhere close it shocks. This agency is normally wrong with the trailer as the research is clueless so pointless having expectations from these numbers but sadly some of the industry does. Its also the reason why RRR has some insane expectations with the same section of the industry.

A realistic expectation from a film like Radhe Shyam would be like a 5 or 6 crore nett number with the possiblity of downside as no face value and it looks like it will be to the downside and how much to the downside will be known in the evening. The opening is a little better in Maharashtra where south stars have a better following but that will hardly make any difference.

The Kasmir Files has taken a decent opening and it had a good number of tickets booked in advance for Friday evening at the multiplexes (number of tickets considering the tight release of 700 odd screens). This is also why the agency ormax upped the figures on this film, on the research it was 80 lakhs and then 24 hours later with advance open it went to 1.40 crore nett but sadly 1.40 crore nett will be wrong as well because if we take the collections till 2.00pm and the advances in the evening then 1.40 crore nett is done already. More importantly what value is the research when you have to change the numbers by the advance to make it look a realistic figure.

The Kashmir Files is a series film with The Tashkent Files being the first which sustained like very few films have and it was done without the media support of 4 and 5 star reviews. At that time it was weird as a small film was sustaining so well without media support. This film has opened far better and with good evening collections it will record a good first number and it will be about going on from there. The film will easily collect more than a Badhaai Ho on its opening day.
