RRR (Hindi) has good collections on day one with around 17-18 crore nett as per early estimates. A lot will depend on where the mass numbers land in the morning as in parts its very strong but at other places in the mass hindi circuits could have been better. There is a huge number coming from Odisha at the moment but there could collections for the Telugu version in the figures.

The final collections of the film could be a little higher or lower but that will not make much of a difference as the story is where the film goes from here. This is a solid starting point, maybe not by the financials as they are a bit heavy for the film for Hindi circuits but if you take the cast, music and the South look of the film its a very good number and the second best post the pandemic after Sooryavanshi. The plus points of the film was the scale and the name of the director which can work in the bigger centres where there is more awareness of the technicians involved in the film. 

The downside of the film are the collections in the North especially the multiplexes. The collections are fair due to high ticket prices but occupancy is low and there has to be a good improvement here tomorrow. A Pushpa can get away with a poor North but this is a far bigger film. The film is standing on huge heroism as per the reports but the actors are not a Dharmendra or a Vinod Khanna or a Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar in todays time for this audience so this can be an issue in North. Obviously Bahubali 2 worked in a big way in North but that was not the hero but the character of Bahubali being developed in the first film which is not the case here.

If North does not join in then the other way to succeed will be go the The Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior in Maharashtra and CP and do huge business there. It will not need that level but do blockbuster business in Maharashtra and job will be done for the film so it will be an interesting weekend and the acid test for the film will be the next two days.
