This is slightly off topic but it is important for us to clear up something as there could be a possibilty that this director of film Thappad could be up to the same tricks again this week. This should have actually been cleared up at the time but at the time we did not follow up what was actually happening. It was only later that while some searches were done about the website by a third party that a certain media article came to notice which made things clear but by that time covid19 had hit.
This media article can be read here. There is a quote in the article "Mr Sinha disputed that his film was not making money and also alleged that Box Office India's reporting was influenced by his refusal to pay money for a favourable account of earnings"
This is completely fake as no one and we REPEAT no one from this website has ever contacted this director for money or in fact anyone else in the film industry for money to do favourable reports. The director is fully well aware that no one from BoxOfficeIndia has asked for money but has obviously gone on some rant.
The way some of these a$$holes work in the film industry is so messed up that its unbelievable. You get the paid reviews of x amount of stars, you call in the favours from those idiotic critics to try and make the film work better. Then you have the audacity to say that you refused to pay someone who has not asked for money or would never even think about contacting you just because there is a different stand on the film compared to what you want to portray. It is ridiculous to say the least. Its pretty simple you and your friends / critics believe your film is good and a hit and thats great while we believe its trash and flop and thats our take so get on with it and dont come out with all these false accusations thats its being called a flop because you refused to pay money.
These type of idiots like this director also have to understand that it was never written on the website that Thappad was losing money, it was said that the film was a flop and it was rejected. There are very few films that lose money due to digital and satellite sales and just recently a film like Jayeshbhai Jordaar and others made a lot of money like that but that does not make it a success in the way we work. Obviously the director has support from these various industry types going by the article and that is great for him but they seem pretty clueless about the film.
There is also an issue with the heading of the report but from our side we thought it was very creative. There were other films at the time which were also given a tight slap by the audience like a Chhapaak or Love Aaj Kal but the heading simply makes more sense with Thappad and that is why it was put there. Whatever is put on the site is on the moment and not pre planned as no one can do that with box office anyway. Also it is independent of the rest of the media and trade and totally disconnected from that circle and whatever goes up is totally original content.
Anyway the main point is that this idiot was not asked for any money and is he lying through his backside and this is just to set the record straight from our side before this guy possibly comes out with more crap as he has a release this week.
