Hit - The First Case collected poorly at around 1.15 crore nett which is lower than Khuda Haafiz last week and Rashtra Kavach Om the week before. Nothing much was expected from the film as the trailer was poor and no face value to attract the initial audience. When there is no face value then the trailer or a song has to work.

The film did pick up in the evening as around the afternoon as the film did not look like getting to the 1 crore nett but that hardly matters as much because where can you go from this sort of start. Obviously the hope is that it goes up 100% up or even more on Saturday which may give it a chance.

Shabaash Mithu was much worse as it collected around 40 lakhs nett on the first day. The film is another cricket biopic after 83 but this time a female player. 83 was a disaster but it ha d ahuge production budget and hype and this film has nothing going for even though the production cost is pretty high for a female orientated film with little face value. There is little hop for the film with such a low start.

These films will be called films for streaming and if they had gone straight to OTT then the makers would have built that perception of appreciattion and love which would be all fake as the audience is one. There has only been ONE film that would have worked which went to OTT and that is Laxmii and that can be said with more certainty now looking at box office results and the demographics of the box office of last 6 months.

The problem with likes of Hit and Shabaash Mithu is you have main leads who are actually supporting actors and when you do this the box office is a risk. Obviously with better content you can get away with it with these type of actors or better put got way with it before the pandemic. Now the pandemic has shifted the posts and its about content in cinematic format to reach as the masses. This sort of basic acting and basic films with no vision will find it harder and harder to survive.

There were other films released like Judaa Hoke Bhi and Ladki and the collections of these films are negligable.
