Shamshera has taken a low opening of around 15-20% and it is pretty much on the lines of Samraat Prithviraj and the opening is also better in the same places as that film also had Mahrashtra being behind the rest. The best opening is likely to be Delhi / UP for the film.

The hope was that the film could take the best opening of the year as far as original hindi content is concerned when the advances opened but that has a become a task on this opening. There are pockets which are better but when its a big mass film then its cant be about pockets and the film has to open well or at least decent all over.

Despite being a mass action film it has become about trajectory over the weekend which is basically the case week in week out but for this type of film you would hope the opening is better so it beomes less about trajectory. The film could have had better music or maybe a big hit song which may have helped the initial.

Basically the initial makes it a tough ride for the film and as its a mass film there will not be a huge jump on Saturday but there is a possibilty it can break out on Sunday if the public reports are on side.
