Uunchai showed a fantastic trend on Saturday as collections went to 3.25 crore nett which is double the number of Friday. It is the first time post the pandemic that an original Hindi film has shown this sort of Saturday growth not counting The Kashmir Files. Generally even 50% was hard to come by even for the so called content / concept films.

The film has been aided by a restrictive release which always gives more chance for a film to prosper in this way rather than it when it is released everywhere and many of these areas have little chance of working initially. The plus for the film is that film has doubled up almost everywhere. if Mumbai and Delhi / UP are double so are CP Berar and CI. On the face of it there is nothing much in the film to appeal in these circuits but when the emotions are correct then even mass pockets show positive momentum.

The two day collections of the film are a little under 5 crore nett so there is a lot work to be done for the film but chances are there. The film is for families so there is potential of strong movement on Sunday though capacity restrictions will prevent some cinemas going much higher as Saturday evening saw full houses and collections cant go higher here. A circuit like Gujarat can show a huge jump on Sunday as its a circuit dominated by family audiences and on Sunday these audiences really come out when the content is there.
