Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar had the seventh highest first week post pandemic for outright Hindi films with the insane 317 crore nett of Pathaan ruling the roost. In terms of day one Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar was sixth which means the weekend was not quite there as it feel a place even though it was an extended five day weekend. The collections post the weekend were pretty good for the film.
The seven day numbers are pretty similar to 83 but that film was over the Xmas period though a a city like Delhi was hit by covid19 post the weekend which equals things out. Also Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar may not be that good in mass pockets but it is far better than 83 as a circuit like Rajasthan will cover the 83 lifetime in around ten days which means wider reach.
The first week numbers are 20 crore nett less than Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and that is the problem. The film may not be as strong as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 so its not going to compete over the long run but the seven day numbers had to be closer to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 as its a far bigger film with a bigger cast and on top advantage of Holi. Considering the trend on weekdays if the film could have done around 85 crore nett in seven days it would probably be on its way to becoming a HIT but now will have to settle for less. The top ten opening weeks for original Hindi content post pandemic are as follows.
1. Pathaan - 3,17,06,00,000 (ALL TIME RECORD)
