Tiger 3 is heading for an outstanding first day as collections look set to be around the 42 crore nett mark. The collections are slowing in the evening and night due to its being Diwali Day and Puja but the job had been done in the earlier shows.
The number may not look outstanding as there have been higher numbers but this number has come on a day which is bit like half a day and collections come to a bit of standstill post 3 PM. Not only that there are cinemas which shut up shop early on Laxmi Puja day. The fact the number has come on this day makes the number outstanding. It looked like heading for 30 crore nett a few days back while when the advance ended it looked like it could get near 40 crore nett but eventually the film has crossed the 40 crore nett mark.
The highest opener till date for Salman Khan is Bharat at a little under 42 crore nett which came on the national holiday for Eid and here Tiger 3 will edge past that number depite it being Laxmi Puja and a weak day in terms of boxoffice.
The numbers in mass pockets will be less than Bharat but the Southern circuits and likes of West Bengal, Assam and Odisha are all far better. The business in the bigger multiplexes will also be better but smaller centres and single screens will be short but these areas will come into play either Monday or Tuesday. It could be some places record best collections on Tuesday as Diwali is playing out differently this year. However it plays out current will move much faster as to how it moved today.
