Animal is looking to finish with an outstanding advance which should be over 35 crore nett for the weekend and maybe even towards 40 crore nett. The national chains are on course for 4 lakh tickets sold which means it will be the fourth or fifth highest in the national chains in terms of tickets sold. The film is looking to have over 20 crore nett up on the board for day one before the first show.
The film seeing an extraordinary bumper response in Nizam / Andhra and Delhi NCR closely followed by Mysore. The other areas are less but still very good and a lot of these Hindi mass pockets are more dependent on current than the advance unless the film is that commercial action mass film. Traditionally Mumbai and South have gone hand in hand as films that do well in one of these areas tend to do well in the other but here its Delhi / UP and South.
This has probably happened as Ranbir Kapoor is a big pull in Delhi / NCR and the director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has clout in the South especially Nizam / Andhra but in the long run it will have to have even out somewhere depending on the content. There are also market dynamic changes post the peandemic and those can be play also.
The film has generated huge curiosity which has led to this huge advance and the expectations have also gone sky high. The film is looking to do phenomenally well and if the mass belts really come into play on the first day then there could be something really big happening with Animal. It also must be noted that first day numbers are coming on a non holiday which is not the case with many films which have the sort of numbers that Animal will get.
The advances of Sam Bahadur are also fair CONSIDERING the competition of Animal. The film should get near 40k tickets in the national chains which is not bad but outside the big cinemas of these national chains there will be less interest and this is not just because of Animal but the content also.
