Animal is recording phenomenal collections on day one with the Hindi version collecting likely to collect over 50 crore nett and collections may settle around the 52-53 crore nett mark though it remains to be seen what the single screens bring in the morning. The film has opened phenomenally well in Telugu and the dubbed versions of the film could go to 10 crore nett plus so it could be a 63-65 crore nett total for the film in all languages.

This collections would be the third or fourth highest collection ever in Hindi and the second highest ever in all languages after Jawan released which came in September. More than the overall number it is the momentum picking up pace in places like Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan and CI on the day which puts the film in a super strong position. The film is going to beat the numbers of Jawan and Pathaan in some of the above mentioned areas.

The weaker areas for the film are Eastern India and Maharashtra but there is a good chance these areas pick up over the weekend. Animal again shows how these testertone heavy films capture the imagination of the masses but they are so few in Hindi cinema now.

This opening has also come on a non holiday so again it shows when the film is right then the day does not matter. It will be interesting to see where the numbers for the mass circuits come out tomorrow as compared to the big films as no Ranbir Kapoor starrer before has really smashed it in these places. Also the South numbers be it Hindi or regional reflect the awareness of the director in those pockets but that is not the case in the Hindi circuits.
