Dunki recorded an advance of 22 crore nett approx for four days with around 65% of that for the first day which puts it on 14th place for the highest advances ever. It maybe should have got over the 25 crore nett mark but irrespective of the presence of Shahrukh Khan the film is more dependent on what happens post release as it does not have elements to pull in that huge audience initially.

The advance is the highest for a non action film just beating the likes of Sanju and Dangal but this has a lot to do with pricing which is far higher than the days of Sanju and Dangal. Also times of changed and in the last two years this looks the only film to get some sort of initial with a non action film while at the time of Sanju and Dangal these type of films could compete with the big action films. Today the potential of the action is propelled to another level.

The advance is the eighth best post pandemic dominated by the huge action films released post pandemic. The fact that the advances of the other Shahrukh Khan starrers Pathaan and Dunki are more than double of Dunki pretty much paints the picture of the box office scenario today. The top advances for all films released in Hindi in terms of collections till date are as follows
