The advances opened of Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan have begun to open over the last few days though both are still limited with very few properties open especially for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan which had a later start.

So in this case the numbers of tickets sold will not tell where the advances are heading but it can be clearly seen that the interest in the films is no where what it should be as the cinemas opening advances should see a better response. As the advances open they will get faster but thats just because of more properties but the reponse in those properties will be pretty much the same as in the properties open.

The units of both films have not been able to generate the interest they should have and now on top its looks like Eid may well fall in India on Thursday. Here maybe the makers of both films should have been on the ball more as because as soon as they got hint of this they could have pushed the release to Thursday which is a national holiday and would have been the safer bet. As the box office is not seeng the best of times its always best to be on the safe side even with the biggest of films.Now both films look like they could be releasing on a non holiday Wednesday.

The advances suggest a rough time ahead and it could be a very scary Wednesday where numbers are short of the lowest expectatations for both films though if Eid somehow falls on Wednesday then maybe it will look better on the day. The national holiday will come on Thursday and that will be the biggest hope for the films as there can be momentum if there is some merit to the films.  This is not the way it should be for big films especially Bade Miyan Chote Miyan as these films are made to start with a bang. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has better advances than Maidaan but that hardly matters in the overall picture as both films are totally dependent on reports for the Eid push.
