The Eid releases Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan are moving forward to release a day later on 11th April as this is when Eid is likely to fall in India. Both films were basically releasing on Wednesday which would have been non holiday Wednesday release and that too a day before Eid.

The advances opened for the Wednesday and saw a dull response which was not just because it was a messed up day to release on but also because the films had not managed to generate enough interest among the audience. No doubt both fillms will see a better response coming on the 11th as even if advances struggle there will be a far larger current crowd on the national holiday.

Both the films are holding paid previews on Wednesday which seems to be because they want to hold on to the original date for the fomalaties of release and there is overseas to consider. But when a decision is made is made to come a day later you may as well go the full hog and launch on the national holiday as the you get full benefit of that current  crowd.

There was confusion about Bade Miyan Chote Miyan whether it will be paid previews or straight Thursday release but both films have taken the same route and advances for paid previews are open for both films. The advances for paid previews do look a little better than they were for the whole day but that will be due to cancellations going for the limited shows available for the evening. Basically a case of a shortened day having almost similar bookings as there where for the whole day before the change.

The industry is really depending on these two films as its huge dry period coming for almost two months post the release of these two films when there is no other significant release till end of May  although some mid level film can come. This is the plus at the moment as both films have more than enough time they just need to get the public on side when they release.
