Stree 2 has recorded the third highest opening day ever for a Hindi film behind Jawan and Pathaan and beaten the likes of Animal and KGF 2. It is the sixth film to get over the 50 crore nett mark and this has come with a clash with 2 films though it has the benefit of a huge holiday.
The last film to hit the 50 crore nett mark was Animal but Stree 2 has beaten that almost everywhere apart from South India, The only other circuit which was less was East Punjab but to be just 40 lakh less there than a film like Animal which has a heavy Punjabi flavour is actually phenomenal. The rest of the circuits are comfortably better for Stree 2 especially East India.
It is the opposite in the South as the Vanga factor took Animal to a crazy level in Nizam / Andhra and Mysore and also as Stree is more of a Hindi circuit film South is always going to be lower Gujarat / Saurashtra is phenomenal and better than Animal, Jawan and Pathaan.
The numbers are such against the size of the film you can already call it a BLOCKBUSTER. The Independence Day period is delievering some huge megahits as last year it was Gadar 2 going crazy at the box office. The top opening days for Hindi films are as follows (Hindi language only)
