Stree 2 had an insane Sunday of 57 crore nett which is the highest collection in its run so far and it has finished its extended four day weekend including paid previews at 195 crore nett which is extraordinary and unprecedented for a budget like this. It is rare that a film a releases on Independence Day on a Thursday and opens huge and then goes past that holiday collection on Sunday.

The business is extraordinary all over except South India where despite the underperformance it can still be called excellent especially as the cinema which is Hindi rural tends to underperform there and that is just now but in history unless its a Sholay. Elsewhere it looks like it is going to compete with the biggest of films post pandemic be it KGF 2 in Mumbai or Gadar 2 in North and Central circuits.

East is also phenomenal with huge collections in West Bengal, Bihar and Odisha though the Jawan numbers here may be out of reach due to the Shahrukh Khan factor in West Bengal. The huge plus was a circuit like Gujarat which has been so dull for a long time came to life. This looked on the cards before release but not to these levels where the film has collected around 20 crore nett in the circuit. 

East Punjab is another circuit which has been a struggle and unlike Gujrat this did not look like doing huge numbers before release but on release it took a flyer and here the film has almost 17.50 crore nett and Punjab political could have been better but Haryana is just phenomenal.

Monday is a holiday for Raksha Bandhan and this will mean strong collections in many circuits but even without that the film would be holding up and its just about how far it goes. KGF 2 was a four day weekend with a holiday start and so is this and this has a stronger weekend trend so the lifetime collections of KGF 2 it will surpass and time will tell how much further it will go.
