Stree 2 has become the first film to cross 150 crore nett in the Delhi / UP circuit which is simply remarkable and is probably the highlight of its phenomenal run. Pathaan hit the 100 crore nett mark for the first time and within 18 months the record number has gone to 150 crore nett in teh  circuit. Stree 2 has crossed the 50 crore nett mark from just Delhi city (not NCR) which is not even 50 cinemas now.

The number was coming as Gadar 2 - The Katha Continues did 135 crore nett with a clash with OMG 2 and ticket pricing was not like an expected blockbuster but Stree 2 was not the likely candidate to do it as its larger than life and big budget films that have a history of working big in the circuit. 

If we go pre pandemic then the biggest original Hindi film was Dangal at 80 crore nett and now post pandemic the number has almost doubled making Delhi / UP the circuit which has actually gone up in collections post pandemic. This is just not the case with the blockbuster films but even smaller films are generally out performing in the circuit.

The Delhi / UP circuit was as big as Mumbai in the 70's and even bigger for the action films but post video it started falling back and the gap got even bigger in the 90's but now there is not much of a difference between Mumbai and Delhi / UP for most films. Now is this because Delhi / Up has seen huge growth or with the sort of content coming is Mumbai outperforming. Outside KGF 2 all the major blockbusters post pandemic have under performed in Mumbai.

A 150 crore nett number in Delhi / UP means 200 crore nett in Mumbai should be possible but nothing post pandemic has even come close to doing it. The top ten grossers in Delhi / UP circuit of all time are as follows.
